Now the truth comes out: China adamantly claimed that the balloons were not government sponsored, that they came from China but were simply weather balloons, or such created and sent by an "independent" Chinese company. Now, however, they are threatening retaliation for our shooting it down. I guess the prices of fortune cookies and fried rice will be going up?
