QUESTION FOR LEGAL BEAGLES

If you're a man named Bruce and you get sued because of a traffic accident, and then you change your sex to female and your name to Caitlyn, what happens to the lawsuit?  Is it now a law dress?  Does the plaintiff have to start all over from scratch?  Can the defendant use hormonal problems as a defense?  Inquiring minds want to know.
